In Process
There is a pile of rough drawings on my desk I'd like to develop further. But nothing was working. So it was time to do a little playing. This afternoon I got out my acrylic paints and started painting faces. I chose a couple to digitalize and continued to fool around; this time using Photoshop. My first attempt brought up this lady. Hmmm. She certainly has a strong personality. Is she funny or scary? I'm not sure. And that coat must be pretty warm to wear today. (It's 89 degrees.)

I was also working with this face.

and this is how it ended up.

And now, I might just have an idea how to tackle those raw sketch ideas. (Maybe.)

Just curious...

Happy Earth Day!

This is a painting by my great uncle Boyd Redett, who was a professional artist. It looks like June to me, at about noon. I can picture him painting in the field near his home; feeling the sun, smelling the grass and enjoying the quiet peace in Fredricksburg, Ohio. He's long gone. I never met him but his feelings remain alive through his work. ART... ain't it grand?

As for me, I am hiding out today.
